MSN-ENP Accreditation

The College of Nursing at ÎÞÂëȺ½» of Medicine and Science (RFUMS) houses the Master of Science in Nursing for Entry to Nursing Practice (MSN-ENP) program, a 24-month, full-time program of study designed for those who wish to enter into professional nursing practice with an MSN degree. This MSN-ENP program’s accreditation status is listed below.

Illinois Board of Higher Education

Authorization for RFUMS to award the MSN-ENP degree was received from the Illinois Board of Higher Education on August 10, 2021.

The RFUMS College of Nursing (CON) is pursuing accreditation for the Master of Science in Nursing degree program by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, 655 K Street NW, Suite 750, Washington, DC 20001, 202-887-6791. Applying for accreditation does not guarantee that accreditation will be granted.

Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education

The RFUMS College of Nursing (CON) is pursuing accreditation for the Master of Science in Nursing for Entry to Nursing Practice degree program by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (), 655 K Street NW, Suite 750, Washington, DC 20001, 202-887-6791. Applying for accreditation does not guarantee that accreditation will be granted.

The CCNE accreditation process and timeline are shown below:

  1. August 24, 2022: The CON received New Applicant Status approval by the CCNE.
  2. February 27, 2023: The MSN-ENP Program matriculates its first cohort of students.
  3. January 31, 2024: The CON submits a CCNE Self-Study for its MSN degree.
  4. March 13–15, 2024: The CON hosts a CCNE Site Visit with CCNE Accreditors.
  5. December 2024: The accreditation decision is rendered by the CCNE and is made retroactive to March 2024 (time of site-visit).
