Christine M. Wellington, BSc, MS, RD, is a registered dietitian with over 35 years of experience in clinical and community nutrition in both the United States and Canada. Christine retired from the Lakeshore Community Nurse Practitioner-Led Clinic in Belle River, Ontario in June 2022 where she had worked as a part-time community dietitian since 2016.
Since 2007, Christine has been an Assistant Professor in the Clinical Educator Track at ÎÞÂëȺ½» in the Chicago Medical School and College of Health Professions, teaching nutrition elective courses for fourth-year medical students for the Nutrition Department. Recently she has also been teaching HNUT Modern Nutrition. In addition, she is currently an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Medicine Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry for whom she acts as a facilitator for ISGL: Year 1 and Year 2 medical students. Christine was also employed as a Sessional Lecturer in the School of Nursing at the University of Windsor where she has taught nutrition courses since 2004 - 2023.
Christine earned her undergraduate degree in nutrition at the University of Western Ontario followed by a Master of Science in Nutrition and Clinical Dietetics from the then-named Finch University of Health Sciences/The Chicago Medical School in 2004, where she was honored with the Award for Outstanding Nutrition Education Module. In November 2017, she received the 2017 Educator's Award of Excellence in Medical Education from the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry. Christine has also earned awards for her professional services including a Canadian Diabetes Association Regional Award in 2011 as an Outstanding Healthcare Professional; a Community Health Promotion Award from the Bulimia Anorexia Association in 2006 and an Epic Award from the Association of Ontario Health Centres in June 2006.
Christine has authored or co-authored nine publications with publishing credits for seven journal articles and two book chapters. She has made nine poster presentations at the American Dietetic Association annual conference resulting in several published abstracts. She has also presented to the Canadian Dietetic Association Annual Conference where she has one published abstract as well as the Canadian Diabetes Association where she has three published abstracts to her credit.
