Dr. Kim received her MD from the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago, IL. She completed her bachelor’s degree in the Honors Program in Medical Education at Northwestern University.
She has been board certified in General Pediatrics and Pediatric Infectious Diseases. She has held academic positions, teaching medical students, residents, and fellows since 1998 at Maricopa Medical Center (Phoenix, AZ), The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia/University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, Advocate Lutheran General Children’s Hospital, and the University of Iowa, prior to joining the Chicago Medical School in 2014. She has been the clerkship director for pediatrics since 2015 and is now the Clinical Sciences Education Director for Pediatrics.
Dr. Kim is a member of the Infectious Diseases Society of America and Pediatric Infectious Disease Society. She received the Pediatric Subspecialist Teacher of the Year Award, Advocate Lutheran General Children’s Hospital, Park Ridge, IL 2009-2010.
Her interests include pediatric simulation, nurturing young clinicians, infection prevention and control, and bacterial pathogenesis.
