Dr. Hanson is the Associate Vice President for Interprofessional Operations in the DeWitt C. Baldwin Institute for Interprofessional Education and faculty in the Department of Interprofessional Healthcare Studies. She holds a Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction Leadership for Adult Education from Aurora University and a Master of Art in Teaching with an emphasis on Educational Technology from Webster University. She has served on several dissertation committees for IPHS both as committee member and chair. Prior to her current position, Marilyn managed the Health Professions Education Masters program and served as Associate Dean for Online Programs and Associate Vice President for Online Learning and Instructional Design.
Her primary areas of interest are the effective integration of technology for teaching and learning and quality improvement. She is a certified Six Sigma Green Belt.
Prior to working in higher education, Marilyn worked as quality engineer/manager where she integrated systems to provide real-time process monitoring and data collection and developed quality systems training curriculum including training for statistical analysis, quality auditing, problem solving, and six sigma process improvement principles.
