Dr. Rabia Bhatti is a board certified general surgeon who currently serves as Director of the Breast Cancer Program at Ascension Resurrection Medical Center and Director of the Breast Center at West Suburban Medical Center. At Chicago Medical School, she works in the Clinical Sciences Department as Assistant Education Director of Surgery.
Dr. Bhatti received her medical degree from Aga Khan University Medical College in Karachi, Pakistan. She completed her internship at Aga Khan University before working as a Surgical Research Fellow at St. Mary’s Hospital in London, where she studied the effect of total parenteral nutrition (TPN) on the immune system.
She moved to Illinois to work as a Surgical Research Associate at Loyola University Medical Center, using an animal model to determine the effect of burns and overwhelming sepsis on
intracellular calcium fluxes in neutrophils. She completed her General Surgery residency at Metropolitan Group Hospitals in Chicago.
Dr. Bhatti's previous academic positions include Site Coordinator at Mercy Hospital for medical students from the University of Illinois at Chicago, Assistant Program Director for the Metropolitan Group Hospitals Residency in General Surgery at Mercy Hospital, and Director of the Breast Center at Saints Mary and Elizabeth Medical Center.
