Dr. Goldman graduated from St. Louis University School of Medicine. He completed a family medicine residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He is board certified in family medicine and quality assurance with a certificate of added qualifications in geriatrics. He has instructed family medicine residents for 37 years. He has served Chicago Medical School since 2000, initially as family medicine clerkship director and most recently as Associate Dean of Clinical Affairs and Discipline Chair of Family and Preventative Medicine.
As Executive Chair of Clinical Sciences from 2016 to 2020, Dr. Goldman oversaw the Clinical Sciences Department and directed the activities of the education directors, clinical education specialists and administrative staff. He also focused on regional campus development and establishing best practices for the clinical education of medical students, residents, and faculty. In December 2020, Dr. Goldman retired from his leadership roles of Executive Chair of Clinical Sciences and Associate Dean of Clinical Affairs, although he maintains his role of Discipline Chair of Family and Preventative Medicine.
Dr. Goldman was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha as a faculty member. He has also received several outstanding teacher awards, including the Illinois Academy of Family Physician's Teacher of the Year.
Dr. Goldman’s academic passions include curriculum design and implementation, preparation of medical students for specialty specific training, and promotion of quality improvement methods for improving medical student education. Of course, his primary passion is his family, including his twelve grandchildren.
