Dr. Tova Appleson completed her medical school training at the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in Old Westbury, NY. In medical school she was the winner of the Academic Medicine Scholars Program award, giving her an additional year during her medical training to teach fellow medical students and do research.

After medical school, Dr. Appleson went on to complete a Pediatrics Residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago and a chief residency year. As resident she was awarded “outstanding teacher of third-year medical students award”.

After residency, Dr. Appleson began working as a community pediatric hospitalist for Advocate  Medical group, where she continues to practice. In her role as pediatric hospitalist she treats pediatric patients in both inpatient and emergency room settings, attends complicated newborn deliveries, and cares for newborns in both the normal newborn nursery and special care nursery. 

Dr. Appleson joined ÎÞÂëȺ½»/Chicago Medical School in 2020 as the  Pediatric Education Director and also Pediatric Discipline Chair. 

Dr. Appleson lives in a north Chicago suburb with her husband and three children. She enjoys running, yoga, and baking.
