The field of population health seeks to develop approaches to foster health and quality while managing cost and promoting wellness among diverse populations. A variety of population health strategies may be used by health systems to manage and effectively execute approaches to these challenges. In addition, new educational models may be necessary to train the healthcare workforce to effectively implement population health oriented practice.
